Quang Ngai's Island Paradise
Ly Son Island is often likened to a paradise amidst the vast ocean. Visitors are invariably captivated by its majestic natural beauty. Despite its modest size, Ly Son boasts stunning beaches with fine white sand, bordered by spectacular lava cliffs.
Traveling from Da Lat city to Ly Son Island involves a few steps. Firstly, take a bus from Da Lat to Quang Ngai city. The well-known Phuong Trang bus station operates 2-3 trips daily, with a journey time of 10-12 hours. For bookings, contact 19006067. Upon arrival at Quang Ngai bus station, it's a 25-minute, 24 km drive to Sa Ky Port. Various transportation options, including motorbikes, cars, and buses, are available for this leg. From Sa Ky Port, several high-speed boat services offer roundtrip tickets to Ly Son Island, priced between 300,000 - 340,000 VND. The sea journey takes about 35 minutes. Remember to carry an ID card or driver's license for ticket purchase.
Ly Son – A Spiritual Destination
The island is home to sacred ancient temples and pagodas, attracting many tourists. These include Hang Pagoda, Duc Pagoda, Cau Cave, Lady Ngoc Temple, An Hai village pavilion, Ba Roi palace, King's well, the volcanic crater, Hoang Sa – Spratly squadron relics, Yin Linh Temple, and various ancient tombs. The most famous, Hang Pagoda, was formed in the 16th century within a 20m high cliff at Thoi Loi peak, shaped by sea water erosion. The cave extends over 25m into the mountain and features beautiful natural rock formations. Ancient eagles front the cave entrance, covering it with lush branches, and a statue of Guan Shiyin overlooks the sea.

Despite the challenging climate, Ly Son maintains a vibrant green landscape. With over 550ha of agricultural land, the island produces thousands of tons of garlic and onions annually. Grown on sandy fields in terraced formations, Ly Son garlic, enhanced by the salty sea breeze, boasts a unique flavor.
