Viet Nam has the largest grotto in the world!!!
Located in Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park (Quang Binh Province), Son Doong Cave (Son Trach Commune, Bo Trach District) was first found in 1991 by Ho Khanh, a local man. In 2009, the cave was explored and published by a group of scientists from British Cave Research Association.
The cave is about 200m high, 200m wide and at least 8.5km long. With these tremendous dimensions, Son Doong Cave is considered as the world’s largest cave.
Son Doong is not only known for its sheer size. There are shimmering rivers running through it....
And a dense subterranean jungle that keeps growing thanks to shafts of sunlight through the fallen stretches of the cave ceiling.
The fossilized corridors, which prove there was life inside millions of years ago.
Recently Son Doong Cave overtook numerous world-renowned destinations to top the list of the 25 great places to see in the 21st century by the US magazine the Smithsonian.
It look like "pear of mountain"
The British are now working as guides for tours of the cave, which take five days and four nights and cost around US$3,000 each!
