Check out these equally awesome islands in southern Vietnam
Hon Nghe (Nghe Island) is part of Kien Giang Province's Kien Hai District. It used to be named as Polo-Te-kere by the Frenchs and dubbed "oval paradis" due to its shape.
Nghe Island attracts tourists with primitive beaches, mild climate and floating fish farms. Other destinations include Lau Chuong Mountain with a giant Buddha statue and an impressive cave system.
Ba Lua, a.k.a Binh Tri, consists of 40 islets off Kien Giang's Kien Luong District. It is still off the beaten track for many tourists.
The most favorite islets in Ba Lua include Dam Duong, Duoc, Gieng with fresh seafood and beautiful beaches where tourists can watch sunset.
Hai Tac (Pirates) Islands have become a common destinations for many backpackers recently. Among 16 islands, Hon Tre is the biggest, around 28 kilometers off Ha Tien and 40 kilometers from Phu Quoc, Vietnam's largest and most famous island.
Hon Tre has beautiful beaches with white sand, clean water, coconut trees and friendly locals.
Nam Du, southeast of Phu Quoc, has 21 islands. It can be reached in three hours by express boats from Rach Gia Town in Kien Giang Province. Tourists can easily find guesthouses and camping areas here.
